Oguta Lake

 

This is the largest natural lake in Imo State and the second largest lake in Nigeria. In the colonial era, the Oguta Lake was a port for the evacuation of palm products and served as Biafran army marine-base during the Nigerian Civil War. I witnessed a ferry transporting vehicles, humans etc from one point of the lake to the other. Don't you think Oguta Lake needs a bridge?! Isn't it time to harness Nigeria's waterways for economic development?
